We strongly recommend to make a reservation, tours fill quickly and we can only guarantee a spot on our tour if you have made a paid reservation. However, it is possible to just show up at our building at the start time of a tour, but you risk that the tour is full.
Yes, our tours & experiences are safe. Safety is our number one priority. All active adventures begins with a safety explanation. On our bike tours we use bike paths completely separate from the street most of the time. Rio de Janeiro has become a cycling friendly city since the Olympic Games. Our experienced tour guides know Rio de Janeiro and the the roads very well. We only work with quality safety equipments and we have helmets available for no extra charge.
Yes, Yes, Yes. We can not emphasize this sufficient. The south zone of Rio de Janeiro is so beautiful on a bicycle. Since 2016 there are very good bike paths. You will be surprised about the spots and places you can reach on the bike paths.
Depending on the tours you are required a certain ability and fitness. On our website you can see the activity level required for each tour. In general your tour guide will set a very relaxed pace. We make every effort to cater to the slowest in the group, but keep in mind that we have to try to keep our schedule on time. We stop regularly for information, bathroom breaks and photo stops. Your guide will explain the riding etiquette in Rio and for the group so that everyone rides safely. You are welcome to arrive an half hour early to practice on our bikes to get comfortable before departure.
Caminhos Tours as well the client has the right to cancel tours if it rains. If Caminhos Tours or you cancels the tour because of rain, we either try to reschedule or there is a full refund. If there is some light rain or drizzle we provide rain ponchos and tours can continue.

For each tour you can see what is included and what you should bring. But all tours include the use of a quality bicycle, helmet, a bottle of water and a friendly experienced tour guide + access to our Free Caminhos activities.
Reservation for all tours can be made on our website by clicking here. You are also welcome to make your reservation in our office in Ipanema at our frontdesk.
Caminhos Tours offers 100% refund on all tours if the reservation is cancelled more than 36 hours (1 1/2 day) before the scheduled tour.
We have a maximum group size of 12 people per guide. In case of more people, we will simply create more groups.
Yes, we have helmets for those that would like to use one, though in Brazil it is not mandatory to wear one. There is no extra charge.

We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your tour is scheduled, so that we can prepare your bike. Everyone is more than welcome to come before and enjoy our office to drink a coffee/water and use WIFI.
Yes, you are welcome to leave bags, luggage or unwanted family members in our office.
Yes, of course it will be greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. If you enjoyed your experience, our guides will happily accept tips. Tips are not included in the price of the tour.
