Rio de Janeiro is famous for its nature, and Tijuca Forest is one of the best places to visit to see the rich nature the city has to offer. From great hikes to refreshing waterfalls to awesome views, it is all there in one of the biggest urban forests in the world.
We start the tour in the lesser known Parque da Cidade, in the neighborhood of Gavea. A beautiful park that is the entrance to the Tijuca Forest. From here we pick up the trail that leads to Vista Chinesa, around 500 meters above sea level and a great view of the popular South Zone of the city.
After Vista Chinesa we continue the tour with a visit to two of the most popular waterfalls in the city, Jequitibá and Horto. Once we arrive at the last waterfall, we will have the opportunity to refresh ourselves in the water and clear our mind of all daily troubles while getting showered by the waterfall. Overall, the hike is fairly easy and there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
