Carioca Vibes Bike tour (Full day)
Tour Overview
Join us for an unforgettable full-day bike ride around Rio de Janeiro, a city celebrated for its stunning vistas and vibrant cultural tapestry. Starting in the trendy Ipanema, we’ll journey through iconic neighborhoods, historic sites, and along beautiful beaches, experiencing the best of Rio from the saddle.
Morning Ride
- Ipanema to Copacabana: Our journey begins in the charming Ipanema, pedaling towards the Arpoador, famous for its picturesque views of sunrises and sunsets. Then we move to the Copacabana beach where life is vivid and energetically paced, all thanks to a number of factors such as sports, music, and others.
- Red Beach and Sugar Loaf Mountain: Our next stop is the peaceful Red Beach, located at the foot of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, which is a perfect spot to take pictures. Afterward, enjoy a gentle jaunt along the quiet residential streets of Botafogo, to see the quiet Rio.
- Flamengo Park to Marina da Glória: The journey through the wide Flamengo Park and all its lush greenery and views of the waterfront takes us all the way to the Marina da Glória. Hushing voices, the World War II Memorial affords us a chance to ponder Brazil’s role in these affairs.
Lunch Break
- Buffet Lunch: Enjoy the refreshing peace of a meal break in one of the many popular local eatery in Brazil. The buffet lunch itself consists of a sympathetic assortment of Brazilian meals, like bacalhau, feijoada, flan, etc., with season salads, so you can get the strength to continue in the adventure.
Afternoon Ride
- Museums and Historic Spots: Full of energy, we will visit the Museum of Modern Art and the National Historical Museum, allowing us to be a part of Brazil’s rich artistry and history. We see Praça XV and the Candelária Church and pass the bustling Boulevard Olímpico on our way to the multiple art installations.
- Mauá Square up to Lapa: We admire Praça Mauá, the futuristic structure of the Museu do Amanhã, and the colorful Kobra Wall mural as we walk past Confeitaria Colombo and Royal Portuguese Reading Room. The impressive facade of the Maritime Museum and the small and busy streets of downtown Rio (Regina Community) will be our next stops.
- Cinelândia and Lapa: We encounter the climax of our tour in Cinelândia, where we see the great Municipal Theatre. In the adjacent area, the distinctive tile work of the famous stairs of Selaron Staircase in Lapa makes for unique backdrops for shooting photos.
Scenic Return Via Botafogo
- Botafogo to Leblon: Instead of taking the shortest route back, we’ll be taking a scenic journey along the coastal path of Botafogo, overlooking the bay with the view of Sugar Loaf Mountain in the distance. We continue our excursion through Flamengo, along the tranquil terrain along Lagoa, and probably make it a point to go through the snappiest area of Leblon.
- Finish in Ipanema: We decide to end up where we started, in Ipanema, surrounded by fantastic moments and a greater appreciation of the Rio spirit.

Final Thoughts
