Explore Eco Caminhos: Building a Sustainable Future Together<\/p>\n

Hidden away in the tranquil mountain tops of Nova Friburgo, Eco Caminhos has been practicing sustainable living since 2014. Started by the enthusiastic Bijen family, our farm is completely self-sufficient taking care of most of its own food \u2014 vegetables, fruits, meat from animals such as cows and chickens raised here; milk from cows kept at the farm dairy; eggs laid by chickens that roam freely around the place additionally having planted 8,000 trees so far!<\/p>\n

But beyond being just another agricultural venture, it serves as a place for sharing experience where teenagers from Casa de Caminhos orphanage, young people from the city, volunteers and anyone else can visit to learn more about eco-living and sustainable practices. Every year trainees who are mainly school dropouts acquire practical skills through working on different projects like coffee agroforestry or construction of houses using natural materials among others while gaining theoretical knowledge during classroom sessions held twice per week throughout the training period.<\/p>\n

Our goal here is simple: prove that living harmoniously with nature isn't some unattainable hippie dream; show people how they can do things differently. Teach them everything we know so that when their time comes for leaving this place behind off into wider world beyond its gates armed not only with requisite qualifications but also field-tested skills ready employment wherever planet most needs repairing.<\/p>\n

We're not just interested in growing our own veg or making sure the chicken coop is fox-proof. In fact, everything we do here is designed to minimize harm. We teach these principles too sustainable design for buildings and permaculture among others. We want people leave empowered, ready start green businesses wherever they are.<\/p>\n
