 Verified The best way to experience Rio! Can't recommend enough! All of the staff are super helpful and friendly, not only with school things but also general advice for living in Rio. As a first time solo traveller from the UK having a community to lean on was invaluable. I did the group intensive classes (Mon-Fri, 9:00-13:00) for 6 weeks and enjoyed every day! Lessons are very interactive and fun, incorporating games, music, and lots of Brazilian history and culture. The teaching is fast paced and focused on speaking which is perfect for getting the basics you need to communicate with locals. Outside of class they run loads of great afternoon and weekend activities (my favourite was beach volleyball on mondays! 🏐) many of which are included in the course fees. I also choose the homestay option and was blessed to stay with the lovely Nila who was an angel 😇 If that's not enough reason to sign up then know that part of your money goes to providing financial support and education for under privileged children in Rio.

Como advogada, eu queria uma boa escola não só para me ajudar em aprender português, mas também para me ajudar em preparar para a prova do Celpe-bras. Com o meu horário no emprego, eu não tinha tempo para perder nas aulas inúteis, revisando o que já aprendi. Por isso, eu gostei muito como a escola funcionava: a simplicidade de fazer pagamentos e me inscrever nas aulas, sua experiência em encontrar o professor apropriado para mim e os meus objetivos pessoais, a maneira de comunicar com a escola se eu tivesse que mudar uma aula por causa de um conflito no meu horário, e o respeito que me deram em focar no qual eu queria ainda enquanto mantendo a direção do curso educacional. Escolher Caminhos foi a melhor decisão para mim porque, graças a sua orientação, em junho de 2023 eu consegui o nível avançado no Celpe-bras. Caminhos me ajudou muito em atingir as minhas metas de linguagem.  Verified You won't regret it... Learning at this school was a once in a lifetime experience, forever grateful i found this place and learning for almost four months by the hand of excellent native teachers, the classes are dynamic, different learning methods, after class homework and actual useful things you will use in real life. All the after school activities were useful and fun to help discover rio, their client service is excellent as well, both online and in person. If you're looking to live a unique portuguese learning experience, meet people from all over the world and live the 𝘊𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘢 from a closer to carioca point of view, caminhos is your way to go!

 Verified Gute Sprachschule in Ipanema Ich habe als Anfänger während zwei Ferienwochen ein paar Privatlektionen in Portugiesisch besucht. Positiv aufgefallen sind mir die beiden sympathischen Lehrerinnen Isabelly und Rubia. Beide waren ausgesprochen engagiert und sind top auf meine Bedürfnisse (Kommunikation in alltäglichen Situationen) eingegangen. Verbesserungspotential sehe ich einzig bei den administrativen Prozessen und der Freundlichkeit am Empfang. Meine Ziele wurden erreicht und die Schule kann ich empfehlen.

My experience in caminhos was incredible, the classes were always very dynamic and entertaining, they have very good teachers as well as extracurricular activities that allow you to discover the diversity of Rio. Thanks to caminhos I was able to reach the level of Portuguese I wanted as well as having a complete immersion in the brazilian culture, getting to know their customs, their dances, their gastronomy as well as people from other countries, it was definitely an unforgettable experience!

 Verified 5 stars I had a great experience during my time at Caminhos. From the reception where the ladies are professionals, kinds, and welcoming. To the teachers who are full of knowledge, patient and happy irradiate their passion for their cultures. To the rest of the staff who is available to help and organize whatever is necessary to make a seamless experience for the students. This school has a family feel, perhaps due to the numerous activities they make available for free to discover the Brazilian culture. So i may speak for myself, but i can hardly find anything wrong to say about this school, because after spending 6 weeks with them, i am able to communicate in Portuguese with Brazilians without any majors difficulties. So thank you Caminhos for your help.

Really can’t recommend it enough <3 great teachers, interesting and relevant content, and we covered loads in 30 hours. Small class sizes and the private lessons were amazing for boosting confidence with speaking. Also a great location, close to the beach. The additional samba class is fun and it’s also generally a nice way to meet people and to get your bearings a bit with things to see etc. Definitely planning to come back next year. Big hugs and thank you 🥳

    Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Caminhos is a well-run school with enthusiastic teachers.  The atmosphere is relaxed and fun.  The curriculum was well thought out, with lessons about culture, food, music and history mixed with language instruction. The school is located in one of the safer neighborhoods of Rio, and is close to the beach and various restaurants.  The Caminhos Language School is a great way to learn Portuguese!

What initially attracted me was the intensive beginner Portuguese course for Spanish speakers, which was a good introduction to Portuguese for students with prior familiarity in a similar Latin Language. The school runs an ethical business including their social programs. It is clear from the minute you walk in every morning that everyone who works there, from the reception staff to the teachers care about the work that they are doing, and value those who they serve. I’ve spent six weeks so far at the school over two trips to Brazil, and look forward to my next opportunity to return and continue.
